How long should an auto transport take?

Shipping time all depends on which car transport company you use. Here are some very basic ideas to help you along the way. Make sure however you contact your vehicle shipping carrier for their actual scheduled times.

East Coast to West Coast – approx. 7 to 10 days

Midwest to East Coast – approx. 5 to 7 days

South to the North – approx. 5 to 7 days

All shipping times are estimated. Do not base your car shipping on these examples without first contacting your vehicle transport company for assistance.

Why does a truck(S.U.V) shipment cost more then a regular sedan?

Vehicle transport shipments are based on weight that a truck can legally carry – this is why these is a small price difference between $75.00 and $150.00 for a regular truck for S.U.V.

How is a car transport supposed to work?

Auto transport is very simply – You should receive a call from the vehicle shipping company anywhere from 12 to 24 hours in advance of your pick up date. The driver will arrive & review the vehicle with you before is loaded on the vehicle transport trailer. The reverse happens at the delivery point, the driver calls in advance, you’ll walk around the vehicle for damage and take delivery.

How many days in advance do I need to make arrangements for my vehicle transport?

It is our recommendation that you book your order at least 7 to 10 days in advance, however, if you need to move your car immediately, we will work with you on an individual basis to accommodate your auto shipping needs. We also offer next day pickup.

Can I ship my car with personal items in my vehicle on the auto transport trailer?

Car transport carriers are not licensed to carry household goods or personal items, therefore it is not recommended to leave items of that nature in your vehicle. Factory issued equipment and after market items permanently installed are allowed to be left with the vehicle and will be noted accordingly on the truck bill of landing.

Do vehicle transport quotes include insurance in their estimates?

Most auto shipping companies do include some insurance in their basic price but you should get a copy of it and definitely read the fine print. Many car shipping companies offer more insurance for a fee at a higher price. We always recommend that you keep your car insurance active should anything out of the ordinary happen during vehicle shipping.

Does my car have to be in working condition during auto transport?

It depends. Some car transporter companies are prepared for “inops” or inoperable cars, others are not. We always recommend that you communicate your needs and the condition of your car with the vehicle shipping company when you book.

Will the vehicle transport companies deliver my car Door To Door?

That is not only our name, but also our intent. There are some cities and subdivisions where it is illegal to bring a large truck in local roads. You also have to consider low handing trees and power lines, which can do severe damage to our cars. In that case, we will determine an alternate place where the vehicle transport truck will be allowed or safe.

Can I ship more than one car?

Yes. In fact, many car shippers will actually have your car(s) on trailers with up to 8 to 10 other cars for at least part of the way.

Will I be charged by size?

Yes – large cars, trucks and SUV’s will cost more money than a standard mid-size or compact car. Some SUV’s are so large that they equal the weight and size of two cars!

Do I have to be present at the pick up and delivery?

Many auto transport companies will require that either you or someone designated by you be present to go through an inspection and sign off the vehicles condition.
